KA Heritage Swedish Splitting Maul

Late 60's Hults Bruk - Swedish Splitting Maul  

Offered up from Dave's personal collection! Rare and extremely hard to find for those of us in the New World...This mid to late 1960's produced vintage splitting maul was forged by Hults Bruk and located in Southern Sweden last year. It was shipped to the KA shop where it was hand stripped and cleaned using both a wire wheel and electroysis. It was then shipped up to Quebec Canada where some unique magic was worked by Emile at Trintiy Boletus. 

A beautiful straight and hand filling 32" haft was fabricated out of white ash. A nice pommel flares at the end to ensure a firm grip during use, but this axe's most striking feature is the hand fitted steel collar! Custom made and fit during the hafting process, this protective measure wraps the shaft 5 1/2" inches down from the eye and is secured to the rear of the handle using 5 large hand bent steel staples for a bit of a Frankenstein vibe.

Overall an extremely utilitarian purpose driven build that is both brutal and elegant at the same time! Built to smash and split while doing it in style, this Heritage piece was something special that Dave has been hanging onto. When you have this piece in hand, it's hard not to feel like anything can be accomplished in beast mode. A very real Thor's Hammer! 

Original HB stampings intact, Rydböm Heritage Chop added, Trinity Boletus brand on pommel, collar signed in gold having come from the personal collection....
