KA August Hedvall Felling Axe Scandi Chop Chop

This Hedvall originates from his tenure at the Urafors forge in Sweden, late 1800s to early 1900s. This pattern and size are similar to the Billnäs Bruk pattern 32 axe, like this axe is also made for general purpose "timber cruising". Limbing, felling, this larger pattern is a do-it sort of design and feels a bit like a Scandinavian take on the British Chip Chop ideal. A larger face and cutting edge, carrying that weight forward with thin cheeks makes for an axe that bites well and lets those chips fly!
