KA Custom Palmer - #1

In Dave's words...

"I've seen more and more demand for small edc fixed blades over the last couple years, which have been fun to make... and personally interesting to me as I've always felt you can get a lot done with a small blade, especially if it's easy to carry. I don't think that observation has been unique to me, as Spyderco recently inquired about a new fixed blade design to test with that ethos in mind. And so I give you the "Palmer,"(cause it fits in the palm of your hand).

Don't get me wrong... as a Rambo generation kid, I love huge intimidating fixed blades... but with all the sheeple around, who's going to carry it?! Nobody want's to get labeled as the freak still waiting for the zombie apocalypse. That already happened and it was called "zoom schooling", lol.

Additionally, I felt it would be nice to have a blade that could be held in a way in which that hand still had gripping capabilities. Sort of like a bird and trout ring, but more secure and shorter. A salmon and buffalo? A deer and shark, maybe? A wampa and where is my woobie? I don't know...but I do know that if you don't have to put a knife down in the field, you can't lose it!

Speaking of fingers. For this design, I have decided to bring back and repurpose the OG hand print logo used on the Hand of God fixed blades from 15 years ago. My oldest son's 2 yr old handprint became the identifier and design specific logo for that series of enormous bowie knives.  And so it lives on in a new design... "

Currently, there are 2 pre-production protos that are on their way down to Spyderco to begin making the show rounds. I made those in two different sizes. A father and son, small and large. This particular one you see here is the larger size, and is serial #1. (it comes with a COA, but will also be marked #1 prior to shipping out) It is a full custom, hand ground from CPM 154 and heat treated by Bos. It wears a satin stonewashed finish for durability, and will come with the sole authored kydex sheath made this week by Dave. You're only limited by your imagination as to how you choose to carry this unique fixed blade.
