KA Custom Heavy Etch & Polished Damascus Rogue

The very first Rogue offered for sale here on the K.A. Stag Shop! This particular folder was built out as a Titanium Bolsterlock, essentially describing a framelock that has had bolsters inset to become part of that frame. Not only does that give you a traditional bolster aesthetic in a build, but in this manner you get the benefit of the slim and light nature of a framelock. Win Win! Additionally, that bolster on the lock side functions as a both over-travel and as a lock-bar stabilizer helping to insure an even more secure blade lockup. 

With bolsters fabricated from green linen micarta and a hand sanded CC'd contour to the frame, this Rogue will carry nicely in the pocket and feels great in the hand. A slotted tail section on the lock side is a carry over from a TAD Dauntless design Dave did years ago, and was at that time sized for a webbing lanyard. A wire wheel applied satin orange peel texture finishes off all the Titanium.

The Blade is a unique departure from a standard Damascus build. This folder was made using a nice piece of Chad Nichols stainless damascus that exhibits a pattern resembling a "topo map". To better highlight that effect, the blade was heavily etched to raise the veins, then hand buffed to a high polish. The effect is stunningly beautiful and has a three dimensional depth as the light catches it, almost like peering into a deep pool of water. 

As the cherry on the top, Dave built a clip from a nice piece of Damasteel and mounted it partially blind (not with his eyes closed...no, we mean the main attachment to the frame is handled via a brass post that is hidden between clip and frame, using just one small visible screw to secure). Not just a cool aesthetic...the clip is actually spring tempered and functions as a pocket clip should.

Designed in and named for the Valley in which Kingdom Armory exists, the Rogue and it's sister knife the Rook were both created as a "spydie flicking" taylored design. (made for deployment using the middle finger) The oval slot is sized for easy thumb use if you'd prefer...but, "F" it! Use the bird, and be a little unique! Be a Rogue...

Blade action is smooth and middle finger flickable, riding on phosphor bronze with a ceramic detent. All hardware is custom fabricated stainless, with the pivot screws being fabricated out of Titanium by Steve Kelly at TiConnector. Lock up is solid at 20% on face with a clean release from a carbidized lock.
