This original BtB-f or Bill the Butcher - folder, makes an appearance in this build as a more formal and shiny "dress tactical" affair. Arriving at the party ready for business, but wearing a "waistcoat of particular note."
This Titanium frame lock is built using .187" thick 6al4V Ti with a hand-contoured CC'd profile with a touch of decorative milling for good measure. The clip was also hand-fabricated from the same material and given the same rounded profile for comfortable carry. A satin wire wheel orange peel texture on all the Ti gives it a classy appearance, but one that will wear extremely well over time.
Mechanical lock support and stabilization in accomplished in this build using Dave's "hub cap" pivot, essentially taking the idea of the lock bar stabilizing disk and moving it to the pivot area where it becomes both more seamless in its design and closer to the area in which it is intended to support, the lock face. In this particular build, that collar is flame colored copper paired with a stainless pivot.
Obviously, the most striking feature of this build is the Blade, which is hand-ground stainless Damasteel from Damasteel Labs in Sweden. A high hollow grind not only makes this knife thin and extremely sharp, but exposes that amazing pattern in all its glory.
Heat treating was handled by Bos in Post Falls, Idaho. The blade rides on phosphor bronze washers with a ceramic detent, carbodized lock face, locking up firmly at 25% on the face. Super smooth and flickable with a clean and easy release.
