KA Custom - Stavesacre - JCSO SWAT Team Tanto Fixed Blade

Originally designed and built as a team knife for the Jackson County SWAT team back in 2009, this Tanto was simply notated in the book as "jcso swat tanto"... years later picking up the name "Stavesacre" as demand dictated Dave keep making this design. When you love a tanto, you love a tanto! When you grind a tanto, it's mildly irritating and needs to be named accordingly. Stavesacre is a mildly poisonous bush that grows in Israel and gives you the shits when brewed into a tea. You asked! Ok, maybe you didn't...but it wasn't named after the band "Stavesacre" (which isn't a bag on those dudes, just a clarification). One band member actually contacted me years ago just to say, "What's up? Your knife is Rad." Cool guy, nice conversation. Small world isn't it?!
I digress. The Stavesacre has sort of been shelved over the years, but never retired, instead morphing into the "Masada" in folder form. Yup, the mountain fortress that fell to the Romans, not the magpul rifle design that was sold out, sell outs to Bushmaster only to be muffed. "Ramble on." (sing Zeppelin here) Tanto folder, yes! Don't make them either (maybe not true), just not very often. Such a round about way to explain that this particular design (the Stavesacre, but yes also the Masada) are very rarely made. Maybe I should just shut up and make more of both. Seems like people really like Tantos, even if they do give me the shits!

The sole authored drop sheath was pressed and fabricated by Dave specifically for this knife. Made using Boltralon (a kydex equivalent that actually scratches much less), Dave created an integrated overlay that drops the sheath with a leather loop attached to the back, and retains the HSGI mag pouches on the front using MOLLE clips. Everything is easily removable should you want to transition to a simple tek-lok  method of carry, etc. As currently formatted however, the TACO pouch on the front provides the option to carry not just mags, but flashlights, or other necessary survival gear. The larger pouch, in fact makes a perfect place to carry an altoid tin full of tinder, line, a lighter, etc… Or just keep the breath mints around, and pass them out to everyone you come across. Nobody should turn down an offered breath mint, that's just a truizm in life, especially if a dude carrying a knife is giving them out. Don't get in the van though!
